Frequently Asked Questions

We are based in Seminyak on the island of Bali, Indonesia.

Our main HQ is our design space, office, administration as well as quality control, checking and packing of goods before shipment.

We work with a variety of skilled artisans across the island working with a cottage-industry style production whereby we support each industry.

Each group of artisans have their own team that they manage with many of our teams working from the comfort of their homes / in their villages.

We create clothing in all categories of the manufacturing industry including (but not limited to) Ready to Wear (RTW), resort wear, loungewear, intimates, swim, active wear and more.

The main types of dying techniques used by our team are hand-dying, hand-printing or screen-printing.

A few of our finishing or speciality details include kerawang (hand lace), crochet, beading, sequinning as well as hand-dying techniques such as tie-dye, ombre, shibori and more.

Accessories such as tassels, pearl shell buttons, coconut husk belt loops, lace and crochet trims, branding accessories to name a few.

Our MOQ is 25pcs per style, per print / colour. This means the total of the order of one style in all sizes should be 25pcs.

You can break this down to 5 x XS, 5 x S, 5 x M, 5 x L for a total of 25pcs or however you see fit.

We offer a smaller MOQ than most other factories on the island as we want to ensure that clients can achieve the collection they wish to, rather than only being able to order a few items with higher quantities per style.

Lead times are a general amount of time that is given to clients to explain the amount of time needed from the start of production to the end of production.

Due to restrictions with travel Jula works via video calls, photos and more for sample collections to ensure that all items are created to the clients’ requests.

Below is a brief outline of our lead times from sampling to production:

  • Sample lead time: 2-6 weeks for proto samples.
  • Production lead time: 6-8 weeks for full order to be complete. Please note production cannot commence until all samples, fabrics, components, size grades and orders have been confirmed.

The above lead times can vary depending on the following:

  • Style Designs
  • Delays in Sampling / Artwork / Colour Development
  • Material Availability
  • Design Sheet Specifications
  • Length of Design Development
  • Order Size
  • Holiday / Interruptions to Scheduling

At the minimum we require clients to provide detailed sketches and drawings of designs as well as information that includes fabrication, mood board or style references to get started.
Once we have an idea of your collection, we require Tech Packs to continue the process. A tech pack is a document containing all the technical information about your product. It’s an essential document for both designers and production teams when producing new collections, as it helps clearly communicate all details to our team.

Jula can assist with making Tech Packs for your collection should you need.
