Mother and daughter duo, Judy and Lara Flax, are co-owners of the company, having been in the production and garment manufacturing industry in Bali for a combined total of 40 years.

Jula is known for production of garments in the Ready to Wear (RTW) category including Resort Wear, Intimates, Active and Swim.

Judy and Lara have a deep respect for ethical business practices and sustainable production. The company is founded on using a cottage-style industry of production as well as prioritize methods that reduce waste, consumption and off-cuts.

Strong relationships with a variety of fabric suppliers on the island mean that Jula has access to top of the line internationally recognized certified eco-fabrications and dyes, as well as locally produced alternatives.

Speaking fluent Indonesian and having a deep understanding of the cultural influences of the island, the pair are able to navigate business with a hands-on approach. Prioritizing the customer’s needs, the team works with a variety of clients from smaller scale start-ups to established brands.

Working with craftsman in all sectors from batik and screen-dying to digital printing, hand-beading garments to intricate kerawang lace work and everything in between, we celebrate the artisans of the island by fusing traditional methods with a modern approach.
